Studying economics is understanding how the world works. It will equip you with the essential tools to navigate through the intricate web of global economic affairs.
The Carlos L. Tiu School of Economics, with its global perspective coupled with DLSU’s commitment of quality education, provides a challenging environment for students aspiring to be professional economists. A degree in economics prepares students for career opportunities in fields such as banking and finance, business, and public administration. SOE also offers double degree programs that will give students the unique opportunity to study economics and their chosen business discipline or program. Students of the school are also required to undertake practicum work in any private corporation or government entity.
The School aims to answer the demand for professionals who are well-versed in economic principles, policies, and research methodologies. It gives students a liberal education program intimately intertwined with logic, mathematics, and other social sciences such as sociology, psychology, history, and politics.
Students who are interested in enrolling in the degree programs of this school must have good logical and analytical skills, must be able to express themselves in both oral and written communication, and must have a good grasp of mathematics. They must also be familiar with basic research, knowledgeable in computers and computer programs, and able to create and deliver presentations.
